Calibella Collaboration

Calibella is an organic makeup boutique. Christina Cardenas, Makeup Artist/Owner, Calibella Organic Makeup Boutique, is a freelance makeup artist who she decided to do some research on organic foods and making healthy lifestyles changes. After doing some research, she began to think of her clients and what she was putting on their skin. It was an eye opening moment for her. It’s easy to think of how food affects your body, but when it comes to skincare and makeup, it’s easy to overlook, since it’s bought in a retail store, but there are no regulations. As she learned more about the ingredients, she became more aware of what products are good and bad, not only for herself, but also for her clients.

Calibella is a makeup boutique that caters to special events, including wedding parties and brides, so it was only fitting that Christina chose only the best, organic makeup products for those on their special days. The boutique not only uses the certified organic products on its clients, but also sells them. While she may only sell other’s products, Christina’s dream is to one day have an organic line of her own.

Christina actually met Lori online in which Lori scheduled an appointment when she was in town. Lori went into Calibella to learn more about Christina’s products and the products that were right for her. Through this connection, Lori was able to discuss her love of art and design, but also her love of giving back to the community. From there, a partnership was formed. Lori created the gorgeous banner that Christina has currently displayed on her website. Additionally, Lori and Christina are working to bring Lori Diamond Art shoes to the West Coast. Lori is working to create a line of Converse’s, which can be worn and/or given out at weddings parties and Quinceañeras. Lori can customize the shoes to the buyer’s desire.

Christina will be displaying some examples and more information about the shoes in her store. A portion of the sales will be given back to Christina, which will be given back to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. If you’re ever in Los Angeles, check out Calibella and in the meantime, check her out online.

Lori Diamond Art

Lori Diamond Art designed leggings are featured in a story and image that appeared in the recent BOLD Favor Magazine for December 2015.

The article showcased how Lori’s designs are benefiting breast cancer through giving back to organizations and spreading awareness.

Her designed leggings will be worn by local New Jersey firefighter, Luis Andres Perez as he climbs the cliffs of Mt. Yonah in Cleveland, Georgia to plant a flag that reads, “Breast cancer can be beaten!” It’s to honor his mother, a breast cancer survivor.

More now than ever, Lori is pushing to get her designs out there to give hope to breast cancer survivors, a cause which she fully supports.

THEN

June 26, 2015 was a day of big events. Not only did the Supreme Court vote yes to legalizing gay marriage in all 50 states, but it was also the last day of the NYC Rainbow Fashion Week. The last show to wrap up the week of events was the Rainbow Fashion Week: Red Carpet Divas & Dons Fashion Show, produced by Brownie Marie.

The show’s theme, “Trading Places,” allowed everyone from bloggers to professionals in the fashion, film, entertainment, and technology industries to serve as the models for the fun and creativity filled evening.

Lori Diamond Art designs were showcased throughout the evening and were worn on the models as leggings, shirts, and accessories.

A portion of the proceeds from the show were donated to Bridgilance−a charitable organization whose 2015 goal is to increase the number of minority bone marrow donors.

NOW

Brownie Marie

It’s a few months later and Brownie is still rocking her Lori Diamond Art designs. As seen in the photo above, Brownie is rocking her ‘Spirit of Independence‘ leggings in black. From runway to everyday, Lori Diamond Art can be worn anytime and anywhere.

Since our last talk with Brownie, she has continued her love of writing for AXS and Examiner.com. She has also been dabbling with video editing in addition to her travels throughout the summer.

Dani’s latest book “In The Spotlight: Over 100 Voices in Music (Volume 1),” is a compilation of various interviews that she and her business partner Emily have put together.

What’s the inspiration behind the book?

Dani had originally started a music blog to connect with musicians in the industry around 5 years ago. 2 years ago, she met Emily, who is a life coach for the arts and together they decided to make a book with all of the interviews that they had conducted, ranging from everyone in the industry-songwriters, producers, singers, etc.
